Wasn't Freescale the digital half of Motorola ? By "Motorola" in
the list, I was referring to the analogue half, "On semiconductor"
(another terrible name).

Didn't know that Microchip made op amps.

THAT don't as far as I can see.

Diodes / Zetex have a few dozens of op amps in their catalogue
but only one in DIP.

Intersil appear to have no DIP at all.

Philips^H^H^H^H^H^H^HNXP has stopped making any op amps.

So the list comes down to

- Analog Devices + Linear Technology
- JRC/NJR
- Maxim
- Microchip
- Motorola + Fairchild
- SGS + Thomson
- Texas Instruments + Burr-Brown + National semiconductor

plus, SMT-only,

- Diodes / Zetex
- Exar
- Intersil
- Rohm
- SiLabs

Granted, it's not disastrous yet but isn't the trend worrying ?
It's intriguing to me that no-one else seems to think much of it.
