I too prefer simple, plain text email.
Allowing for small images is a bonus and sometimes helpful.
Having an archive locally is not just nice to have, it saved me a couple of times.
Things became quite diverse over the past two decades, and a few good examples of other communities are out there. Some of us subscribed to them as well, AFAIK.
OTOH forking off to proprietary, closed environments like facebook is bad, very bad, IMO.
Lots of very valuable information gets lost or hidden and lots of redundancy and noise blur the facts and information.
A million thanks to Rick Jansen for running this list vor more than 21 (!) years!!
I wished I could contribute system-wise by running a mailing list server.
Alas I can’t for the time being.
Michael.
