[sdiy] SMT diodes: MELF vs. SOT-23 chip?

I used the following technique for those stubborn parts exposing belly 
to the sun.
Always pour loose parts on a small piece of paper, slightly bent, so it 
doesn't lay evenly flat, and use all that are in correct position. When 
there are only belly-up parts, gently hit the paper with a finger. They 
all jump and miraculously about half of them lands in good position to 
be picked up by tweezers.
