Yeah this is my approach too. I don't have those specific lamps but I
do have two adjustable desk-mounted lamps with BIG "1000lm" LED bulbs
in them, all from Ikea:

I just move the lamp arms around to ensure there are no shadows.
Typically one on each side of my chair.
Really helps with those through-hole resistor colour bands.
The other thing I do is never have more than one value of a part on
the bench at a time, which dramatically reduces the need (at least
while stuffing boards) to read the colour bands at all.
