Don't do this. My ophthalmologist told me that this is not good, because 
usually the real degradation of the eyes is much lower, and with too 
strong glasses the eyes will become lazy.
His recommendation was: make the lights over the workplace much 
brighter. Avoid shading the devices you are working on. I installed 
kitchen lamps under the shelfs which surround my workbench. Similar like

It helped a lot.
