 How about CNC cut from one solid
 block of aluminum? This may turn out 
 cheaper than you think. Then you can go wild in shape
 design.
 
 Or just bent 2mm plate, or even 3mm, also at custom angles,
 with 10mm 
 thick aluminum sides. Result will be solid like tank.
