That is a clever solution, Stewart.
The problem you run into is that the requested size is pretty darn huge for
a die cast box. Most solutions for a size like that would use bent sheet
metal. You can get a metal enclosures bent to those specs, but you are not
going to like the price for a one off object.
Another even less elegant solution would be to use birch ply and stain and
urethane the box.
JP's problem is that his specs are a little too large for an off the shelf
solution and a nice custom metal solution will cost a small fortune.
