[sdiy] UA726 clone possible?

Interesting idea.

Looks feasible, at least as far as a functional clone goes. Getting it into the same shape/size package would be trickier. Since the original just has ten wires sticking out of the bottom, I don't particularly see the need to keep the original dimensions exactly. It'd be enough if the legs poke through the existing holes and you solder it in and you're done. In fact, that'd be a big step forward!

Given the current prices for dodgy counterfeits and questionable parts, there's probably a small but grateful market for a reliable modern replacement.
