[sdiy] Which solder is safer for home projects ?

i must confess to using the Paul Schreiber method for soldering - i use
organic water washable flux for most board components and then regular
stuff for wiring and anything mechanical.

dumping the organic flux down the sink isn't particularly enviro friendly,
for sure. however, i do find the populated boards very tidy and clean, and
easy to examine for issues.
