Kester makes a smoke absorbing fan with a charcoal filter--reduces the
odor to nil. Replace the filter once in a great while.

Lead is a soft metal and you have to assume that some of it rubs off on
your hands. If you then smoke, eat or rub your face then some transfer
will happen. It's hard to say what effect this will have but it's best to
take no chances. There are too many toxins in our environment already.
This is one exposure that you can avoid. Wash your hands, THEN have that
cig or food break.

Went camping once with a couple cig smoking friends. The mosquitoes came
out and the DEET was applied. They resumed smoking only to start spitting
repeatedly as they were smoking the DEET on their hands that had
transferred to the cig!

I think the smoke may be a more obvious irritant--see the fan above.
