[sdiy] Which solder is safer for home projects ?

I have been soldering with standard flux core 60/40 tin/lead since I 
was, like, 6 years old and never had any problem over the last 40 years 
(other than the eventual burned fingers - especially when I was 6 or 7). 
I would assume any solder is safe.
