It's not so bad - many lines have replacements suggested which look
reasonable, e.g.

LM386M -> LM386MX

LM4562MA -> LM4562MAX
(the DIP part is going, but the TO-99 part is still active)

LME49720MA -> LME49720MAX

For some devices whoever picked the alternate part had no clue.  E.g.,
the LM3915

Others... well... that's life.
