After reading that John's code only works with the new releases of Eagle as well as requiring the Ruby development environment, I was already starting to wonder whether there was a way to expand the support by writing something similar with an Eagle User Language Program or Script.
So far, I've used Eagle Scripts to aid in distinct rules for auto-layout of analog, power, and digital sections of my boards, but I haven't delved into the User Language Programming yet.
