Sorry to rain on your parade (and the auction is already finished anyway) but...

After a little bit of research, there have been chips marked
specifically MOS 6581 CBM 2385 which are known suspected fakes.

Note that the chip can output sound despite being a fake, so simply
testing that is not sufficient. Often, the filter is not working.
Passable for a casual gamer, but not very useful if you're planning to
use it for music making. Also, the markings on fakes are often written
with some sort of ink that easily dissolves in acetone, which cna be
used as a second test.

Note that it may be a fake even if you are selling it in good faith.
You might have bought a complete C64 from a less scrupulous seller a
couple of years ago and gotten a fake SID in it. Unless you have owned
the C64 from before the time of fake SIDs, or have done proper testing
of the chip, you can't know for sure.
