I agree that's pretty surprising. All those midi drum machines, you'd  
think there'd be a trove of patterns out there. One problem is a lot  
of them won't read standard midi files.

If it helps, I have a version 1 ROM machine, and so can do a factory  
reset to restore the patterns, but I don't recall ever getting the 909  
to talk sys ex (although the midi chart says it can, there's nothing  
in the OM).
Do you know the procedure?
Otherwise I could give you a tape dump?
