I wrote up a description of my label-making technique here:

  http://www.firstpr.com.au/rwi/tr-808/TR-808-switches/#labelprinting

This enables the creation of highly detailed, color, robust,
self-adhesive labels, which are protected by a conventional lamination
film. The film can stick well to areas which are fully printed, so
black or coloured edges are OK. This description also links to a 2mm
corner cutter for rounded corners.

This technique uses A-One 29283 satin silver material which as far as I
know is only available in Japan. I use Epson Ultrachrome K3 pigment
inks. It is necessary to dry the material thoroughly after printing.
15 minutes in an electric frypan at ~120C seems to do the trick.

This is a web-based, and so updateable (sp?) version of what I wrote to
this list on 30 December 2014.
