If you're new to tubes, the RCA RECEIVING TUBE MANUAL (numerous
editions, RC-25 to RC-30 seem to be most popular) has a great
introductory chapter, as well as a bunch of example circuits in
the back.

The Valve Wizard is geared towards amplifier building, but
is good info generally:
