Are there any sources for replacement Minimoog front panels besides Hernan's?
He's only doing an aluminum one now and it just doesn't look "right" I
think. I'm sure its great, but I like the texture of the original
plastic...
I'm working on my brother's Mini right now. Previous owner in the late
70s/early 80s cut the wiring loom and soldered the wires to some breadboard
and installed ribbon cables which are soldered to the original boards. This
was around the same time that holes were drilled the in VCO board to install
10turn pots.
I'm trying to decide right now if I'm going to return the loom to factory
or not. If I do, to mount the new boards he drilled holes in the front
panel for screws so thats why I'm looking to see if a new front panel is
available from someone so I can make up my mind which way to go on this
unit.
This was the first Synth I played with. I remember my brother bought it, a
Dynaco Stereo 70, PAT3, and I think an FM3 all for $100. Don't run across
deals like that much anymore...
