Just a hint:

I would recommend to check if the problem could happen due to your test setup around the DSX.
So that not a MIDI THRU in your sequencer or PC could produce these stuttering...
Thats the same with keyboards when you don't switch off the local mode and get the same note events from your sequencer/PC...

Ciao
Peter

Betreff: [sdiy] Oberheim DSX

Hi all -

I’m prepping my DSX to hand off to a friend who still has an OB-8 and a DMX and wants to make the complete System. This is the same DSX that was rescued from the garbage and that I got running a couple of years ago. It’s recently developed a problem that I can’t solve.

When hooking the OB-8 up to it (and I’ve tried this on two different OB-8’s), the DSX records the performance properly, based on the note count in the display. However, upon playback, some of those notes stutter - they’re being re-triggered in quick succession. Not every note is being retriggered, and there doesn’t seem to be a pattern to it.

I’ve been poring over the schemos but am not sure where to even start looking to pinpoint this. Me and digits is like me and sheet music - we have a tenuous relationship.

I’ve got the last OS installed in it (I think it’s 3.04).

Thoughts?

thanks,
Eric
