[sdiy] Cleaning PCBs in Ultrasonic Baths

Thanks for the reassurance Chris. I originally bought the bath for cleaning knobs and bits from repairs, but I’d like to start using it for a few more things.
I have some PCBs with an STM32 uP and a WM8731 codec, both of which are SMD. They make up part of the Through Hole Clouds kits I’ve been working on. The STM32 comes preflashed and both the SMD chips are pre soldered. The plan is to chuck the PCB with both chips on into the bath to give them a good clean and remove and flux or paste residue.
I’ll probably get some flux remover liquid for the bath, but what settings should I put it on? My bath has a setting for delicate items, but it doesn’t tell me what constitutes a delicate item.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Rob,
I am a fan of ultra-sonic cleaners and have been for years. Items of concern are those containing graphite and lubricants.

I’m pretty sure it is okay to do this, but just wanted to check with you guys first, but is it okay to clean flux from PCBs after the SMD chips have been soldered?
If so, what settings? About 65DegC? On the delicate setting for about 30 mins?
Many thanks in advance.
