Thanks for the reminder about Axoloti. I meant to keep up with your
developments but never did. Looks like a fantastic system with gobs of
features.
However, when I compare to the capabilities of my analog modular system
it seems to come up short in several important areas. (With the
understanding that I probably don't know all Axoloti's features, since
the list of primitives is a bit vague.)
Basically, I would say that what would be helpful for my interests are
primitives that emulate all the functions available in an analog
computer. Useful additions would include
Integrator
Differentiator
Comparitor (including output "trigger" signals)
Window comparator
Sample and Hold
Track and Hold
Diode nonlinear function
Differential equation solver
ABox had a 6th order diff eq solver over ten years ago, and I have
successfully used it for building chaos generators. This could also be
used for producing a variety of limit-cycle oscillations, etc.
My system also has a slew of unique waveshapers. Hopefully most of
these could be implemented with a good set of primitives. Now that would
be fun!
