I've been also playing with the STM32F031 and PT8211 lately. Use a 28-pin
SSOP/SOIC adapter PCB (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141755772662) , soldered
an STM32F031F6 (20-pin SSOP version) on the other and the PT8211 (SOIC) on
the other side. IDE is SW4STM32 (system workbench for stm32 by ac6 - well
it's actually just an Eclipse plugin) with STM32Cubemx (for pinning and
initialization of peripherals). Good thing is I have to learn (well, actual
learning not needed as you can just press Ctrl-Space on keyboard in Eclipse
for the context help) the new HAL APIs, but hopefully it makes the future
migrations to other chips easier.
