I also have a question about front panel design, and I hope it's reasonable to tack on to this thread.
What are some common spacings for the 3.5 mm jacks? I searched and found a comment that one particular person is not happy with the 20 mm spacing because it is too tight, but that only allows about 6 jacks vertically. Browsing the Doepfer catalog, I see modules with 8 and even 9 jacks stacked vertically. But I can't find anyone willing to state a limit or convention. I suppose that the diameter of the most common patch cable must be a limiting factor, but if Doepfer places 9 vertically then there must be room for their patch cables.
I'd like to stack 8 CV output jacks vertically in a module, preferably with a spacing that allows them to be grouped as two sets of 4 with an LED above each set. So, that's 2 LED indicators and 8 jacks stacked vertically.
Any info?
Brian
