I've had great success with lighter fluid (Ronsonol). I always do a test first to ensure it won't melt the paint and/or plastic, but much to my surprise I've yet to encounter a finish it destroys - also yet to encounter a residue it won't remove.

It eventually came off after putting up quite a fight, leaving behind a nasty thick adhesive residue. Isopropyl hardly touches it, and I don't want to risk removing or damaging the black paint on the Kurz's steel panel.
