[sdiy] OT - stubborn residual Velcro adhesive on front panels.

I always use Ronsonol lighter fluid with good results. I've never seen a
plastic or a paint over metal that was damaged by it. I will use it quite
carefully to pull the adhesive residue off album covers (if I buy used). It
will pull the color off the cover if over-used. Typically I just put a
small amount on a cotton swab to clean the affected area. That is the only
thing I have found that was impacted by it.

I've always looked at the cans of naptha in the hardware stores and wondered
if it would work as well. I know it is different from naphthalene but not
sure how or what the properties are. Anyone know or tried it?

Dave

Goo Gone is napthalene with orange scent. One small step away from Ronsonol
lighter fluid - which may be another candidate for this application.
