I know this is a bit out of synth DIY topics but
I hope someone could help..
I'm in a project that would use a surplus Hammond B3 Scanner/RUN motor
combo unit like this:
http://www.stefanv.com/electronics/hammond_vibrato_mod/vibrato-scanner.jpg
To be used as a 'portable' vibrato/chorus effect for my keyboards.
I already know some diyers on the net used other motors to spin a
scanner like this one:
http://modularsynthesis.com/modules/DJB-scanner/scanner.htm
Or using a scanning method by electronic circuits means like this:
http://www.jhaible.com/interpolating_scanner_and_scanv/jh_interpolating_scanner_and_scanvib.html
...but I'll stick with the old rotary scanner/RUN motor combo for mine.
I know this motor 'normally' won't start by itself but after a start
motor began to make the tone generator spins. OK.
My question is how can I get this RUN motor to start by itself in my
project.
I don't want to be stuck with an additional 'start' motor as an option
like some Hammond organs do.
Is there a 'capacitor starter + switch' trick I could add just at the
start to initiate the motor ?
This motor is a 2 windings motor (not a shaded pole type) and will only
drive its associated scanner.
Any suggestions welcomed.
Thanks.
J-Pierre
