Is it the kind of thing that you don't notice until someone brings it up and then it is really really annyoying? :-)
Like women's speech called "vocal fry" (just Googled it). I went the bank Saturday and both teller and customer next to me sounded identical with this.
Once you learn of it, your're doomed.

Subject: [sdiy] OT: Annoying gap removal
Thursday rant. Anyone else noticed the tendency to remove gaps (breaths) from audio/radio content or online videos? Someone is going through the content, say a commercial or a how-to-video, and cutting out all the little natural gaps in the speech makingthewholethingonelongracetothefinish. Makes me crazy.
I watched an Embarcadero (remember Borland?) how-to video yesterday and it's impossible to follow all the little details because the cuts are so quick. So instead of sitting back and listening you have to pause and rewind in order for the subtleties to sink in.
