Fascinating guy.  He used to talk in veiled tones about the "suitcase sets" used in the Second World War, and eventually revealed that he had worked on them.  At some point he decided that enough time had passed that he felt he could do a fairly decent writeup on them.  Ideal for portable QRP operation - for fairly obvious reasons!
