Just came acrross Michael Tooley "Electronic Circuits Handbook: Design,
testing,construction" 1988.
Struck me as a good introduction.
And, what is unusual in textbooks, all the examples use parts that exist,
and with the component values given.
There must be secondhand copies around.
Sure, I have Art of Electronics, and I enjoy it, but it is(as the authors
say) designed for people doing postgrad research who suddenly have to build
their own equipment. So it isn't for the raw beginner..
