Yes, I gave up on OTAs entirely once I discovered the 2164.  I didn't like
the extremely limited range of linearity or the fact that the control pin
was a diode drop away from the negative rail.  You can do way cooler stuff
with the 2164 (the only problem with it is that it must terminate to virtual
ground).
