[sdiy] Measuring Vpp

I'm at work now so can't check the model number, but it's a Craftsman from a few years ago, probably less than 7 years old. Has Hfe, temp, freq, as well as all the basic features found on most DMMs, but I've never seen Vrms nor dB on it or in the manual. Perhaps I never noticed because I never needed it.

I can't afford to get a proper scope, so I'm looking for another way to calibrate outputs to 10Vpp and 20Vpp. I looked up how to do it with a DMM and it seemed more complicated than I had hoped. Does anyone here have a suggestion of how to do this (easily) using a DMM, decibel levels, or freeware?
