[sdiy] app notes with OTAS? va713?

i was really excited to get the NATIONAL semi 1994 linear apps handbook

but to my surprise, there is NOTHING on the lm13700!

and my RCA app book only has the 3080/3082

and i did find an intersil app note on the ca3094/ca3080

(did rca become intersil ?)

my main question:
did national never include 
documentation on the lm13700 in anything but the datasheet? you would think they would have promoted it better 

also in my searching i read about an OTA called the VA713 by VTC

supposedly a high mhz capable ota 

anyone ever try that one?
