[sdiy] How does the JX3P VCA work?

I built one of these, but I don't recall the "selected" notation, so
I'm pretty sure I didn't use matched transistors. I decided that
while it worked, it did add distortion that I didn't like, so I
abandoned the original plan which was to put 6 of them on a stripboard
and make a hex VCA.
