[sdiy] Stand-alone audio analysis software?

Hello,

I'm looking for suggestions for stand-alone audio analysis software - something that covers the basics of Spectrograph and VU metering and is able to display live feeds from a soundcard input - possibly on multiple channels simultaneously.

Would prefer Mac Intel but would also consider WinXP or X11 options.

Previously did this all using Logic plug-ins but I'm not currently running a DAW on this new rig so plug ins are out.
