Actually, you only one extra op-amp, a trimmer, and three resistors in
addition to the Irwin linearised VCA circuit to implement a basic ring
mod.  More components if you want finer null trimming, or if you don't
have a stable reference voltage already available. I'm sure you can
work out the details yourself.
