[sdiy] ot; bad synthfool tektronix 2335 help?

right before he died i purchased Kevin Lightners personal scope (and func gen and hp dig multimeter)


anyway the scope was amazing up until yesterday when out of nowhere the screen stopped showing anything.

the weird thing, when i first turn it on I can see a green line appear on the screen (just for a second ) and its position is dependent on the selected channels position.

as long as its not a bad CRT i think i could fix it (and since it was kevins personal scope its important to me) BUT never having fixed a scope i was wondering if there is anywhere i should start.


ive tried all trigger modes and they all respond  fine via the led ...just no longer any visual feedback.

one odd thing...the beam find button USED to only work like a momentary button...now it clicks on and off. i wonder if the switch broke and now im stuck in beam find mode? but pushing it on or off does nothing
