Also great for other things like ICs with unusual numbers of pins,
circuits where you want to try out a few different
transistors/diodes/whatever and metal can chips with a round footprint
etc.
Some of the "single row female pin headers" here might also do the
trick, since the 80017a has fairly long pins (you will need to trim them
to size):
