Too late. . . I taught her to solder at six. She built a blinking
Christmas Tree kit. She did all the soldering until she decided that it
was too much work after the second set of LEDs. We need to add a battery
connector and a switch to the tree, if she brings t over. Now she's
asking for a book to learn about electronics.

The Forest Mims book is an idea, I'll have to check it out at a Radio
Shack. I don't have a copy because:

1) When it came out I was already past it.
2) I've never seen it at a flea market or garage sale.

I though about one of the xxx-in-1 electronics kits for her, but I
suspect her mother would put it away somewhere she couldn't get to it
after a week or so. Also I have a completely stocked lab so I can
provide all the parts needed to do the projects in those kits. Most of
the kits have instructions along the lines of connect A to B but are
kind of light on the whys. I think I have the book from one of those
kits . . . somewhere . . .

BTW thanks for the responses, y'all.
