The only SDIY thing I have a record of is from SuperSynthesis.com...

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/671510748/superlf398-low-parts-count-sample-and-hold

He exceeded his funding target by a factor of four - but with 36 backers it doesn't seem like a runaway success.

Subject: [sdiy] Kickstarter for synth module building

Hi Folks,

Has anyone in this list used Kickstarter for Synth Module funding?

We have seen the result of Oculus Rift funding for 2.5 Million $ and purchase by Facebook for 2 Billion.

Perhaps software development and Hardware design would be more lucrative with this approach instead of self financing.

just a new thread to start a discussion along the lines of how to finance projects.

Software development and Hardware design is not all free , some time, materials and tools need to be acquired, borrowed or rented.

just my 2 cents.

Terry
