   Generally, if I use someone's code and not something I wrote (and 
I've written realtime OSes in Z8 assembly for PID controllers so it is 
not like I can't program the things ;), I set up a residual payment 
system so the author gets some sort of tip.  It is a sort of "why 
reinvent the wheel when a published solution does what is needed" but 
balanced against the wishes of the author.  I always ask first. --Crow
