No, I mean people that want you to solve their problems before they have made any attempt to do so themselves. It's not about commerce, it's about expectations. Perhaps people are used to everything on the internet being free, so by extension the content creators are there to create the content the consumers desire.

By the requests I received, usually along the lines of "I've just seen XYZ on your website and think it's great. Wouldn't it be cool if it did YXZ+ABCDE? I would love one of these, when could you make me one?" It was rare to get a mail from anyone asking if I could give advice on how to modify the circuit so they could achieve something else.
The way this list works is to enable people to achieve more then they could by themselves, rather than do it for them. The Internet generally isn't like that.

Well this list is pretty free of that. Why the Internet at large is the way it is isn't something I could begin to understand!

I agree, that particular thread arises from misunderstanding but the result is the same.

Like Roman I shall shut up now too. I was simply explaining why I removed content from my website that generated some interest in general.
