Yes, indeed, but by the time you add in all the bits to make the
555-based ADSR fully CVable you pretty much end up with something like
Roman came up with.  I merely show you what the destination looks
like, you choose your own path to it!  If you want to be closer to the
original you could probably replace some of the comparators and
flip-flops with a couple of 555s.
