This link: http://electro-music.com/forum/forum-160.html points to the Lunetta
forum of electro-music.com. Lots of simple and easy noise makers are in there.
I've not built any of them, but many people do and like them. They use mostly
cheap and easy to get CMOS components.
Lunettas are described as:
Lunettas - circuits inspired by Stanley Lunetta - Digital, dirty, simple, cheap
and lot of great fun.
The term "digital" here doesn't mean DSP, it means merely that most of the
circuits are built around CMOS ICs originally meant for digital applications,
but the circuits press them into analog type applications.
