[sdiy] Sparkfun boards for synth diy - window comparator, sample playback, text to speech

Hey guys,
here's a few boards I've noticed on sparkfun which might be interesting:

1. Window comparator - 0-5V - $10 - https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10101
2. Text-to-speech module Emic 2 from Propeller - $60 -

3. SD Card playback device - $20 -
https://www.sparkfun.com/products/11125 (cannot shift the pitch, but
maybe it's good enough for some things such as playing back a loop,
speech sample, or sequence that doesn't need pitch shifting? a LOT of
instruments in electronic recordings only ever play one note :-) and
if one note costs only $20... that's pretty good, right?
