[sdiy] Potentiometers and suppliers for 1/4" jacks

Hi Guys,

I have been looking over Alp's, Bournes, Alpha pots, Trimmers, and resistor networks and perhaps some other misc. parts for my first build of VCA/VCF/UAF modules / Sub-modules.

What are the availability(lead times), feel of pot rotation and quality in general these days?

I have been using Bournes for many years , but my inventory is 30+ years old and almost gone now with my current module build. Lead times are pretty long in some of the values.

100K vs. 50K ?

I had been using Alco knurled Aluminum knobs, but I think Alco must be gone now.

My impression is Feel and quality are important, but are a cost factor in some cases. 

Just wondered what many of you folks prefer and I am sure to hear some good feedback from you all.

1/4" Jack Panel , I use Switchcraft, but others may have an opinion here as well.

Seeing as how I am redesigning my Panels and PCB, this is a good time to get some feedback.
