Motorola are a bit like that, for radios. You can get housings and odd bits and pieces like volume controls and channel selectors but that's *it* - the rest goes back to the factory.
The Chinese manufacturers are only happy to give out full circuit diagrams with proper diagnosis charts and board layouts, much like the old Kenwood and Motorola manuals of the 1980s.
