[sdiy] MAX1044/ICL7660 or equivalents - experiences?

I've used them, but note they don't have much output.
Check the specs for output voltage with increasing current - I do not think
you will be impressed.
And also note that the "maximim input voltage" really IS the maximum. even
for just a nanosecond.
