Hi Pete,
The long-term plan is to productionise this for volume manufacture, but
i can't commit to timescales. I come from a design for manufacture
background so things like approvals certification, supplier
negotiations, stocking, documentation and shipping don't scare me as
much as just taking up a whole load of time. I'm just one man doing
this.
I would certainly like to get some return on the hours i've invested in
developing this thing. However, I realise that the expectations of a
customer paying for a product are higher than the expectations of
someone building a DIY audio kit, so it needs to be right. I also
believe the sound is much closer than any other TR-808 clone, without
resorting to samples, unlike some of the already established names
offerring "Virtual Analogue" 808 and 909 VSTs!
I posted the demos here for two purposes really. Firstly to motivate
those already doing or concidering doing audio DSP with dsPIC and show
what can be achieved. And secondly to guage interest in a possible
future product or collaboration working towards a product.
Best regards,
-Richie Burnett,
