[sdiy] Clavinova MIDI problem

Hi folks-

I'm trying to make a MIDI editor for the Yamaha Clavinova CLP-611's Organ
Combination instrument.  About a dozen or so Hammond organ parameters are
sent using sysex dumps to change the patch, one dump for all parameters,
about 40 bytes.  Those parameters include tone drawbar, attack, and leslie
settings.  My editor is written and debugged but I have one major problem:
The only parameters that apparently change are the leslie speed and depth
values.  All other parameters are never changed (sound won't change) no
matter what.  The fact that the leslie settings are changing tells me that
the data is properly formatted.

Does anyone have any experience with MIDI communication with the Clavinova
series that can give me good advice on how to manipulate all parameters?

Google is a dead end: just turns up one user manual download page after
another.
