What analog computers are great at, is solving differential equations, and 
simulating various physical models.
In theory, you could make music - or at least noise - but it would take a 
lot of computer to do anythng interesting.
I think their best application in the studio would be making complex LFOs.

There is no doubt that the Moog/Buchla  form factor was largely based on the 
old table-top analogs, but they are very different beasts, in practice.
